Runaway Heiress Needed A Late Push

Runaway Heiress was the only Manitoba-bred horse that was entered in Western Fair Raceway’s Monday evening card and she came up big in the seventh race. In the short field of four mares, Runaway Heiress found herself space at the final second to grab the win after being forced to go three-wide in the final turn. She managed to complete the mile in 2:03.0 which is five seconds off her lifetime mark of 1:58.0.

January 10 th, 2022: RACE 7 at Western Fair Raceway

The 5-year-old mare was the betting favorite at post time and she certainly did not disappoint. This was her second start of 2022 and was a big improvement from the ninth place finished she had on January 3rd. Scott Coulter was in the bike to earn the win for trainer Patrick Bissett. Runaway Heiress found herself with different ownership as she was claimed by Stacy Currie for $8750

Runaway Heiress was proudly bred by Killarney, Manitoba’s own Daryl, and Sherri Mason. She was previously owned by longtime Manitoba Harness Racing members, Don and Sheila Anness.
