Emmetts Buddy is a 5-year-old gelding by In The Irons and out of Logicallyinclined (Shark Gesture). He started his racing career in 2022 at Miami Fair and he made eight starts on the half-mile track in southern-Manitoba. He won five of those starts and the most notable win was the Manitoba Great Western Stake.

Emmetts Buddy then made the move to southern-Ontario before the end of his three-year-old year. He found early success at Woodbine Mohawk Park and earned his first win on the seventh-eighth of mile track on December 10, 2022. He paced the mile in 1:54.2 and had to come from off the pace to win.
